10 Things To Do For Your Child Each and Every Day!

I recently read that there are only 940 weekends from the time your child is born until the time they turn 18.  I think this was meant to pack a punch and it sure did for me.

10 things to do for your child each and every day by www.thepinningmama.com

I began to think about how the days can be long but at the same time the moments are fleeting. I cannot say that I will be able to make the most of every single moment because I am not perfect, I have a smartphone that I lose myself in, I don’t always have quite enough patience as is required for that day, and sometimes I just don’t get enough sleep to be as happy as I want.  BUT, reflecting on this I realized there are things I want to do for my kids every day.  And if at some point over the course of a day I can spend a few minutes here and there to achieve these I think my kids will look back and know that I loved them and cherished them.  I believe they will think of those 18 years with a sense of fondness, and even though, by that point they will have long ago figured out my imperfections, I might just be the perfect mom in their eyes.

10 Things I want to do for my kids each and every day

  1.  Tell them “I love you”
  2. Make them laugh
  3. Encourage them on something they are good at
  4. Give them a hug
  5. Compliment them on something
  6. Challenge them to get better at something they are working on
  7. Be empathetic to their feelings
  8. Have patience
  9. Spend at least a few minutes with my attention solely on each kid
  10. Do something with them… not just with them there, but engaged together.

What so you think?  How do you make the most of such little time?

Thank you for the note Leah! Sometimes you get a reminder how little time you really do have and it is a great opportunity to stop and really think about what matters!

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our busy lives, like work schedules and sometimes just little things take up most of our times and we forget to take care of these little things that matter the most in each child’s life. I put together this little booklet for just this reason, my manager and his wife put this together and now I’m trying to get it into the hands of all family’s with children, we really need to document these things for our children as they mature and look back throughout their lives. It would mean alot if some of you ladies would just take a look at it and let me know what you think.

This is a great list! My son is 6 and sometimes I just run ragged all day, especially when getting off work – sometimes we forget its the simplest things we can do for our kids that make the biggest difference down the road. :) Have a great one Kimber! -Iva

Stopping by from SITS. I love the simplicity yet the importance of this list. I think parents being mindful – staying in the moment rather than focusing on the to-do list for the future benefits kids as well. Plus, it’s a great way to make sure not to miss out on their short childhood. Great list!

I love this list! When I saw the title, I was afraid it was going to be a “You’ll never actually be able to do this and so you’ll feel like a worse mom” kind of thing. But I can definitely do all of these things every day!

    Stopping by from SITS. :)

Thank you so much Bethany! One thing is for sure… I am no super mom. Parenting has enough challenges as it is so I just like to try to do things the easy way and keep more smiles than tears on our faces :)

What simple and great reminders of how we can make positive impacts on our children’s lives in such easy ways ‘each and every day’. Thanks so much for this helpful guide!

Fabulous list! I do many of these things already, but I don’t always do them daily or in abundance. And I only have one kid! Thank you for sharing and reminding me that time flies. Happy SITS Day!

Love this list! I printed it and put it in my planner to remind me. Sometimes the day gets away from me and when the kids are being horrible, these things tend to get forgotten. It’s those days when I should really focus on these things to help calm down the chaos and turn things around. Thank you for the list and the reminder. Happy SITS Day!

This is wonderful! Life gets so darn busy that you forget sometimes that these little people need so much from us to thrive. I can’t wait to go home and hug my little man right now!
    Happy belated SITS day!
