Hi, it’s Ginnie from Hello Little Home! I’m happy to be back today and sharing one of my favorite recipes.

Is there any better combination than peanut butter and chocolate? I think not!

I really can’t get enough, and I’m always looking for ways to include the two in my recipes. I love baking, but it’s getting too hot to heat up my kitchen. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt to the rescue!

Have you ever made frozen yogurt? It’s very easy, and unlike homemade ice cream, there’s no cooking involved.

Not only is this Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt simple to make, but it only has five ingredients. You’ll start by mixing together yogurt, sugar, and vanilla. Make sure to use full fat yogurt, because it gives the finished recipe its rich, tangy flavor.

Stir the peanut butter into the yogurt mixture next, and then chill everything for a couple hours. If you’re in a hurry, you can put the mixture in the freezer for an hour (stir every 15 minutes). Don’t skip this step, or your frozen yogurt may not freeze.

After the yogurt mixture has chilled, pour it into your ice cream maker and let it do all the work. About five minutes before the frozen yogurt is finished, you’ll stir in the chocolate chips. I used mini chips, so there’s plenty of chocolate in every bite!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt

Ingredients
  • 3 cups plain yogurt (full fat)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Combine yogurt, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in peanut butter and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Cover mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Follow your ice cream maker's directions for churning the the yogurt mixture.
  5. About 5 minutes before the frozen yogurt is done churning, pour chocolate chips into the machine.
  6. Transfer frozen yogurt to an airtight container and freeze until solid.
  7. To serve, scoop frozen yogurt into individual bowls. Enjoy!

The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for it to freeze after you take it out of the ice cream machine. If you really can’t wait, you can enjoy a little right away. It will have the texture of soft serve.

Too bad I don’t have an ice cream maker, because that looks amazing. I think I would eat a lot before it ever made it to the machine…like brownie batter:)

I haven’t tried the recipe with Greek yogurt, Stephanie, so I’m not sure how it will work. My guess is that it will work, but just be aware that Greek yogurt has less liquid in it than regular yogurt, so that will probably affect the texture. Let me know if you try it, I’d love to hear how it turns out!

Oh no … well, I guess at least we know the answer now. I hope you get a chance to try it with regular yogurt! :)
