Easy Activities for Kids - Fruit and Yogurt Freezer Pops

Summer is almost here and my kids and I are so ready for it. We love getting a break from school. However, this inevitably means I will soon be hearing a chorus of “I’m bored. There’s nothing to do.” I love finding fun activities for kids that don’t make a big mess, but sometimes the mess is worth it, and these Cantaloupe and Strawberry Frozen Pops are so worth the little bit of mess.

I am a huge fan of getting kids cooking in the kitchen from a young age. From picking out produce at the grocery store, to creating new flavor combinations, the kids are part of our everyday cooking. The kid who picks out food and helps make it feels a sense of ownership and tends to be willing to be a little more adventurous when it comes to trying new foods.

Today we are making some yummy frozen fruit and yogurt pops so we can have a nice healthy treat on a hot summer afternoon. No worries about food dyes and added sugar with these easy little treats.

I am going to use this opportunity to teach the kids more about the fruits we are using and let the older two practice their knife skills. Oh yeah, they’ll learn a little patience too. After all, you can’t make and eat these treats right away. You have to wait a bit until they freeze. Just as they are worth a little mess, they are also worth a little wait.
