We spend most of our summers in Utah because that is where we are from. Here you will find a list of the best waterparks to visit with your kids. With the temperatures rising and a need to cool off I hope you find this list helpful on those days. I find myself wanting to get out of the house but with hot temperatures being at a park or hiking is hard…. so waterparks are our go to activity in the summer.
Waterparks in Northern Utah
Cowabunga Bay
Nestled in Draper, Ut is a fun waterpark for those looking to get wet. My kids loved the day we spent here and I enjoyed going with them on each slide as well. This waterpark features 11 water slides that are sure to thrill those looking for fun. The decor in this park will have you thinking you’ve stepped into a Hawaiian island without even leaving the state. They offer over 300 interactive water toys, connecting bridges to all slides, and a 1500 gallon bucket that drops water on those below every few minutes. There is also a lazy river and pool so you can relax and enjoy the sun while cooling off in the water.
The water here is very warm in the morning but by evening its a little colder. It felt nice and we were never too cold or hot. Parking, tubes, and life jackets are free of charge which is a huge bonus. You can rent a small or large locker and have unlimited access to it throughout the day.
Cowabunga Bay is smaller which made it easier to keep track of my kids. I felt safe with them walking around without me.
Cherry Hill
I grew up going to Cherry Hill so this park has a place in my heart. There is definitely enough for kids and adults to do so you can find yourself spending the whole day here without any whining. Cherry Hill is located in Kaysville, Ut and it’s very easy to get to off of Highway 89.
A few features of Cherry Hill include Pirate Cove which is a 40 foot pirate ship with a splash pool around it. Cardiac Canyon is a padded tube slide with waterfalls, and sudden drops…. be sure you’re ready to get wet on this one. A lazy river for those looking to relax in a tube as they float along. The Double Dragons water slides that feature twists and turns for all ages. And a guest pool ranging from 3-8 feet deep. Cherry Hill also features miniature golf, mazes, Aeroball and few more activities if you’re looking for a break from swimming.
You are allowed to take in coolers so stock up on snacks, lunch supplies or dinner. I also make sure when we go to bring water and drinks. This waterpark is a lot bigger than most so if you’ll never feel cramped or overwhelmed with too many people.
Farmington Pool
Located in Farmington, Ut this city pool is a fun way to spend a few hours of your day. This pool features a few waterslides, a high dive and low dive, play area for kids, and a large swimming pool.
Keeping track of your kids here is pretty easy considering everything is all connected in the same pool area. My kids love diving boards so this was a super fun place to spend a few hours.
Layton Surf ‘n Swim
Layton Surf ‘n Swim is located in Layton, Ut. The best thing about this place is it’s open year round. During the winter month they place a large bubble/dome over the top. This waterpark features a large wave pool and a swimming pool with a diving board. My kids love coming here when they want to feel like they are swimming in the ocean. No outside tubes are allowed so tube rental is available for a small fee. When you return your tube at the end of the day….. you can give them your wrist band for a candy or get a dollar back. My kids love sharing candy after a long day of swimming.
There are a lot of shaded areas to set up your towels to keep out of the sun. They have grass surrounding the pools along with a park for the kids to play on.
Lagoon A Beach
Located in Farmington, Ut Lagoon A Beach spans over 6 acres. Ride a water slide 65 feet down, float in the lazy river surrounded by waterfalls. If you have kids theres an island just for them to play and splash. Tubes are available for rental, but they do cost money.
Lagoon A Beach is part of the amusement park Lagoon, so if you want to make a day of it you could do both. Lagoon A Beach can get busy at times but it is also very large and has lots of space to place your towels or find a shaded area to relax.
I hope you find some fun things to do with your kids in Northern Utah. We love spending our summers there. You can never go wrong when your surrounded by beautiful mountains in whatever you do.
