Hi Friends! It’s Katie from Made to be a Momma. I am so excited to be here at The Pinning Mama today. I have a super fun and easy treat to make with and for your kiddos!
We all know anything mini tends to be cuter. That’s just the way it is. 🙂 Well, I took that same concept when making lunch for my kids recently. You see, my oldest son who is 4, is extremely picky and I always have to try to make his food more appealing and fun. That’s where these mini PB&J bites come in. Once you cut sandwiches into mini circles or even shapes they become that much more appealing. Not only do they look cute but it helps your child want to try something new because of the shape but also because mini means less to eat if they don’t like it. Sometimes when I put something new in front of my children it goes much better if I pair it with a favorite food or just put a very small amount without overwhelming them.
Now I know this isn’t a new concept. People cut their sandwiches into shapes all the time but you know what, until last week this was my first time ever doing it! So maybe this will give you a little push to try it for your own kids. My kids favorite part is picking up what kind of cookie cutter they want to use. Don’t be afraid to use a bigger one with a couple smaller ones. You don’t want to waste any of the sandwich.
We have also done this with tuna sandwiches and ham and cheese and have had great success when wanting the kids to try something different. Above all else this is a simple and delicious treat your kids will love all summer long!
