There are not many things that make my heart swoon like a good chalkboard printable these days. I just had to bring you one special freebie before you ring in the new year. As a matter of fact, I think decorating with chalkboard might even be rumored to bring luck in the new year, ha!
I love to decorate the buffet in my entry seasonally. My mantle is really tiny, so this buffet really turns into the show piece in my home. New Year’s is always tricky because you don’t want to take down all of the beautiful Christmas decor you spent so much time and energy putting up, but really the holiday is over. And if you are having people over for a New Year’s Eve gathering, you kind of want to have something that celebrates the holiday out. Adding a printable can be the perfect compromise!
You can leave up the much of the beautiful and festive decor but add a couple of little pieces to make it perfect to ring in the new year. I added in a clock {stolen from my bedroom} and then framed this printable and transitioned my decor perfectly for a New Year’s Eve celebration!
Other things that would make fantastic transitional decor are anything gold and shiny, confetti, tinsel, etc. Also, classy party paraphernalia would be a great touch. Think a classic party hat or top hat, 2014 glasses, streamers, etc. Pairing a couple of these items strategically placed with the printable to set the tone and it makes a really fun welcome to any home or party.
What are your ideas for transitional holiday decor? Will you be hosting a gathering for New Year’s Eve?
