Raise your hand if you’re NOT bringing cupcakes to the 4th of July party…oh, none of you raised your hands! That must be because so many of us bring these deliciously cute things to parties. I used to think cupcakes were a fad, but I think the “fad” has stuck because we’re going on probably 5+ years of successful cupcake bakery shops! The good thing about cupcakes is that you can lick the frosting off and then you’re basically eating a muffin….at least that’s what I’ve been told by a sweet pal of mine!
Cupcake toppers are a great way to make your party’s theme flow. Below are cupcake toppers I used for my daughter and her friends 1st birthday….I coordinated all of the paper goods, but I thought the cupcake toppers were adorable. For favors, I had chinese takeout boxes and just stuck the extra cupcake toppers to the fronts. It really tied everything together!
- Cardstock – white and colored
- Glue stick or double sided tape
- Lollipop sticks or toothpicks
- 2 inch round hole punch
- 2 inch round scallop punch
- Scissors
Don’t forget that you don’t just have to use these on cupcakes! You can use them on straws – punch or cut them out, use a small piece of tape and stick to your straw. You could also use them as a napkin ring holder by taping the topper onto a piece of ribbon and then wrapping the ribbon around your utensils and napkin. These are so versatile!

Such a cute idea! I could probably use these when we bake cupcakes for a special day. My daughter would definitely love this since she is my cupcake baker now.
