I have been making my own cleaners and using essential oils to help boost their power and make them smell good for awhile now. I have really enjoyed my switch to getting rid of the chemical cleaners and I am constantly trying to come up with new ways to make natural cleaners that will do an even better job than before.
While I was cleaning the other day the air conditioner flipped on (yes, it is already over 80 degrees here in Vegas!) and it HIT me! This plan was just too easy!
How to Keep the Bathroom Air Smelling Fresh
I went and grabbed my Purification oil, some cotton balls, a screwdriver and my step ladder. It sounds like a weird combination, but just stick with me. I love to diffuse Purification because it seems to do a really good job of neutralizing odors around the house and leaves the space with a fresh, light, and clean scent afterwards. I am not big on heavy artificial scents so this is one of my favorites.
I put about 3-5 drops of oil on 3 cotton balls and then unscrewed the air vent in the bathroom ceiling and placed the cotton balls spaced out resting on the inside of the grate. Screw the vent back in place and there you have it!
Each time the air conditioning flips on it stirs up the oil and the pure, clean scent is released into the air and pushed down into the bathroom. So if you are like me, and have kids that frequently use the guest bathroom and you need to declare it a disaster zone for at least an hour after, this is perfect for easily and naturally getting rid of that stinky smell and keeping the air always smelling fresh.
These don’t last forever, but I have just made it part of my cleaning routine to change these out when I clean the toilet each week and it seems to work well.
