Today I am going to share a recipe with you that I made yesterday…. and again today. It is one of those that every time I make it gets gobbled up immediately and is a favorite of all! These little turkey and cheese slider sandwiches are perfect for so many things! They are perfect for a baby shower or wedding shower, but can just as easily be made for a playdate (like I did yesterday) or a fun informal group dinner (like tonight!) Just like the Southwest Egg Rolls we posted about, they are versatile enough to be an appetizer or dinner! There are several versions of these sandwiches that float around the web, but I wasn’t able to find one quite like mine so I kinda feel like I am giving you a super secret recipe! You won’t tell, right?
They are pretty simple but pack a great punch with taste, which is just how I like to cook. You will need 2 (1 doz) packages of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, 1 lb of turkey (I like to get it shaved because I like the texture it gives the sandwich), 8 oz (12 slice) package sliced provolone cheese, dijon honey mustard, stick margarine and sugar. No these are not in any way healthy. This is not the subway sandwich diet plan. But I promise they are worth every single calorie, and I wouldn’t lie about that!
First open both packages of Hawaiian Rolls and cut the entire thing horizontally. Lay the bottoms in a 9×13 baking dish. Two packages of rolls should fit perfectly snugly into the pan.
Layer the rolls evenly with the shaved turkey and provolone cheese. You can really use any meat and cheese combo, but these work exceptionally well!
Lay the tops of the rolls back on and take a knife and slice through the rolls following the lines to separate them into separate rolls. This is important because when you put the topping on in the next step it will allow all the yummy goodness to drip between each roll.
Next put together your topping by melting the butter and adding the honey mustard and sugar and mixing. Once it is combined use a spoon or pastry brush to brush it all over the tops of the rolls. Make sure to let it drip between the cracks in the rolls and down the edges. Sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Open the oven to ooey-gooey, cheesy perfect little sliders.
Serve them warm and watch them disappear right before your eyes! They are that good!

These look amazing! Any suggestions for making them vegetarian? Cheese annnd… Hmm. I don’t know yet, but I want!

Hey, Jamie! Sorry I don’t know how I missed your comment. I am going to think on this one, but you could possibly make them with multiple cheeses and have a variation on a grilled cheese. Or Avocado might just be a genius solution! Let me know if you try anything as I love a good veggie sandwich too!

Thanks Jamie. Did you use honey dijon “dressing” as shown in the picture, or mustard? I can’t wait to try the recipe.

Hi, I just wNt to be sure. Did you use honey Dijon mustard or honey Dijon dressing? It looks like you have a bottle of dressing but I also know there is plain honey Dijon mustard in my fridge.
Kimber says
Sorry for the late reply! I just saw your comment! I use the dressing in the mixture so what you are seeing in the pic is correct. I hope your sandwiches came out delicious!
